Pick weekly or every other week. Weekly recycling can also be paid once a year, and it sits on the same account as your trash and compost.
What goes in, what stays out
Paper and cardboard
Mail, newspaper, cereal boxes, and shipping boxes. Flatten boxes so they fit.
Cans and bottles
Aluminum and steel cans, plus plastic bottles and jugs, rinsed.
Keep it out
Plastic bags, food, hoses, and anything with a cord go in the trash instead.
